Hi Simon, What are some of your main responsibilities at ECSG?

There is never a dull moment being responsible for all commercial activity and general claims strategy! Every Client has a uniqueness about them and now they know there is a better way, they certainly keep us on our toes.

What experience in the industry have you had previously?

I realise it is close to 30 years within the Motor Trade and Motor insurance claims arena! I have dealt with all motor claims disciplines. For the most part I headed up a large Tier A motor claims departments and latterly a Broker based insurer claims department (nonstandard), designing profitable business models in the claim’s management space, turning cost centres into profit centres but always with a keen eye on great service and cost control.

Why do you believe claims should be handled more ethically?

We feel that there are too many hurdles placed in front of a customer at claims stage, with many different parties involved. We, with our combined years of experience, help the customer navigate this in a way that is best for them and definatly not to the detriment of them or the insurer.

What do you believe ECSG brings that other companies don’t?

We love the niche and the difficult. Nonstandard motor claims and controlling those are a challenge that we love. We work with Underwriting Teams to deliver the best possible outcomes in terms of indemnity and claims spend.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

It is always the people, be it our own, our supply partners or Clients. People make this business, and we are very proud of our people internally who share the ECSG values and carry those forward into all that we do!
